Cels Enterprises, Inc., founded in 1971 by Robert and Carol Goldman, is a privately held woman's footwear company with headquarters in Los Angeles, California. From its beginnings as a shoe manufacturer selling to mass merchants, Cels Enterprises, Inc. has steadily expanded its influence in the fashion footwear industry. Consumer research and creative insight have led to the development of seven branded divisions within the Chinese Laundry family:
CHINESE LAUNDRY was launched in 1981. With groundbreaking styles season after season, Chinese Laundry lives at the forefront of fashion footwear for young women. Chinese Laundry is the perfect expression of its signature combination of outstanding quality and value with a unique and inspired point of view. From stylish daytime looks in innovative fabrics and leathers to evening collections in eye-catching metallics and satins, Chinese Laundry consistently provides a mix of styles and trends that are ideal for today’s fashion landscape.
ON YOUR FEET was originally established in 1985 with today's younger, hipper and more casual customer in mind. Available in specialty stores and independent junior boutiques around the country.
CL BY LAUNDRY is a recent addition to the Chinese Laundry family, debuting in 2003. This is a value-based brand, priced for the discriminating customer who’s looking for the newest and hottest trends. Available in specialty stores nationwide.
DIRTY LAUNDRY is Cels’ young, urban and street smart line for the one who is going places. She takes her journey seriously and thinks it’s hilarious. She is the girl who takes the trends and makes them her own – after all, she’s the one blazing the trail. Dirty Laundry gets better for the wear. These shoes take on the personality of the owner of the feet that wear them. By the way, Dirty Laundry is not so dirty that mom wouldn’t mind a pair for herself.
CL WASH is Cels’ “sporty couture” collection for young women. The active, urban sophisticate races from her class or office to a show. Exciting metallics, royal patents and satins are among the fabrics that provide WASH’s aggressive style statement. Designed for hipsters on the go, these are shoes meant for an active life - filled with independent style.
LITTLE LAUNDRY is Chinese Laundry’s first line for young girls, launched in 2004, with the same combination of fashion and value that underscores the company’s success. Available at better independent retailers around the country.
CREATIVE INTERNATIONAL, formed in 1971, is Chinese Laundry’s first cost division, focusing on private label business and the special needs of the volume retailer.
